Story behind the product ~ Crafted by hand using naturally sourced porcupine quills. Porcupines are large rodents with coats of sharp quills that protect them against predation. When threatened their quills, which usually lay flat, extend out and when touched easily drop out. This is a natural defence mechanism and the animal grows new ones to replace those lost.
In village life, these quills are collected and sold. Each shade will be slightly different to the next as all quills are unique and individual.
No porcupines are harmed in the making of these shades.
